In the hottest corner of America, Southern Florida, Tippmanns paintball laser tag has left quite an impression. “A lot of the kids are pretty floored by what these babies can do”
said Andrew Rodriguez, owner of Laser Tag of Miami “The idea of laser tag
anywhere is still pretty new, but it’s quickly catching on”
Since starting in August 2011, Laser Tag of Miami has hosted over 600 laser tag
parties all over the South Florida Metropolitan area. He credits his business
success and continued growth with the combined toughness and versatility of
Tippmanns mobile laser tag platform.
“These Barracuda units have seen everything the tropics can throw at them. They have been
in the full sun and sand in Miami Beach, in the Banyan jungles of Coral Gables
and Pinecrest, driving rains near the Everglades and in the mud in Homestead,
they just won’t stop.” chuckled Andrew “Of course, they have been in nicer
places too” hinting to the many institutional events Laser Tag of Miami has
hosted over the years, such as at the University of Miami, Coral Ridge Country
Club in Fort Lauderdale or the Ritz Carlton on Key Biscayne.
“It’s not enough to be tough though, they have to be fun. We deal with all sorts of
events, from children’s birthday parties, summer camps, corporate events to
school carnivals, and the software is flexible enough that we can feel out a
crowd and customize games on the fly to keep them coming back” said Andrew.
The platform was originally envisioned to expand the customer base for paintball
fields, but has now also found a new home in the niche high tech business of
mobile laser tag. Tippmanns reputation for durability and ease of use made it a
natural fit to the young industry.
It also seems that laser tag is a funnel for paintball. “I know for a
fact that one year I’ll do a 3rd grader’s laser tag party, and the
next year I’ll do the younger brother’s party and hear that their older brother
did a paintball party this year- they recognize where the Barracuda’s come
